I LOVE the 70s. So much. I was born in the 70s so I feel like I missed out on the great stuff. The shoes, the mustaches, the ridiculous hair...love it love it LOVE it! So when I found this Bill Simmons column a few years ago, it immediately went into my repertoire of all-time great reasons the internet is around. The original Battle of the Network Stars had EVERYTHING. Everybody smoked and either wore shorty-shorts or velour sweatsuits. Nobody took their gold chains off to run a race. Howard Cosell got away with calling Farah Fawcett "baby." It's a classic. Enjoy.
Can you imagine if we tried to do a Battle of the Network Stars right now? Who do you think would be on it? (NETWORK, not reality.)
